Sunset back lighting

As some of you know, I've been following some photography blogs to learn tips and tricks for taking photos of kids. It seems as though there's a craze going on right now, especially amongst fellow "mamarazzis" to take photos at sunset directly in the direction of the sun, so you get a halo affect behind your subject.

I finally dragged Ellie out one evening before her bedtime to attempt some sunset shots. Unfortunately, with the sun setting late in the summertime, the lighting and colors weren't quite as dramatic as I had hoped. She was also in a yellowish green colored outfit, and almost blended into the grass. Next time, I'll try to plan a more colorful outfit.
